[So that sure was a meeting. Yeager had no intention of getting drunk again after last night, but then the meeting turned to talking about the deceased and speculating that they're sending us letters and he has never needed a drink more in his damn life. So he makes the journey out to the bar... and promptly pauses in the doorway when he finds Raven there.
It isn't exactly a surprise, he supposes. He'll approach, making no effort to be quiet about it and speak up.]
I would've thought you would be done drinking for a little while after last night!
[What might be a surprise is that Raven is still very much sober. He's just chillin' in here, still with a drink but very much pacing himself this time.
He turns to Yeager, expression somewhat sheepish.]
Listen... Things change, okay? [He then lifts an eyebrow.] You're one ta talk, though. Didja just come here fer fun or are you contemplatin' a drink too?
[The first part gets a short laugh from him, but he shakes his head and moves toward the back.]
No, I thought I'd just come out here to take a look at the place~
[Obviously that's not it. It doesn't take him long to pick out a bottle and a glass, then he moves to join Raven. He doesn't open said bottle or start drinking yet, but that much makes it obvious.]
I figured a little more couldn't hurt after that meeting!
[He doesn't want to talk about it, because he doesn't want to think about it, but they're both here and it isn't likely anyone else will stop by the bar right now... so fine, why not. Yeager props his elbow on the table and then his chin on his hand.]
We don't have any real proof that what they're speculating is true, outside of Tenn's belief that it's Riku's writing. It could be faked. But they really do want to believe that that's what we're dealing with here.
[Maybe they find the notion of being able to communicate with the deceased comforting, but Yeager obviously doesn't. His usual smile's vanished, for once.]
[If nothing else, Yeager and Raven have a unique perspective on this that not many people here would. Raven figures it might be good to get it off their chests.]
I don't understand how they can come ta that conclusion and then act as if there's nothing strange about it. Do they not even hear what they're sayin'?
[Before he gets too heated, he actually takes that sip to simmer down.]
These messages are more harmful than helpful anyway. Someone's messin' with us, big time.
[That gets a scoff from him, and he finally pours himself a glass.]
Agreed. It seems far more likely that this is something Hamelin or the fairies are doing to further agitate us. What could be more entertaining than giving us false hope before destroying it?
[But something about that doesn't quite add up either... He's probably going to need to try to pry more information out of Hamelin.]
It's baffling that they all immediately assumed that and saw nothing wrong with it or off about it in any way. It's also certainly not going to end well if they blindly trust those notes.
[Which would probably be entertaining and something he'd be encouraging were we not also discussing the possibility that people don't die when they're killed.]
I didn't wanna rain on their parade too much since some of 'em are findin' actual comfort in it, but... There really is a good chance it's all a hoax.
[Like, even imagining this sort of thing happening back home...receiving messages from the dead and all of that...is extremely unsettling. And that's not even getting into Raven and Yeager's specific brand of horror.
...]
It's got me thinkin', though... Yeager, speakin' as one spy ta another, d'ya think Hamelin's got one?
[As for that question, he scoffs before taking a drink. He's not exactly a spy, you know!! But he's close enough, so yeah, alright.]
I'd be shocked if he didn't. I asked him if he was keeping track of us all the time and he said he wasn't - so it seems very likely that someone is giving him information about what we're up to. It may just be the fairies - with his magic, who knows what they're capable of - but planting one among us seems to be in line with his general sense of humor, ja? He'd likely enjoy that reveal.
Yeah, that's exactly it. He'd definitely get his rocks offa plantin' a mole and watchin' that fiasco unfold. They'd be able ta get more on us than the fairies too, I'd imagine.
[He doesn't exactly see the fairies snooping on their meetings and parties, for example.]
I imagine he'd find it fun to see exactly how much the mole is willing to give him as well. I can't imagine he's entirely unaware of what we're doing during the week, after all. Maybe there's more than one of them...?
[Or maybe the fairies are able to keep better track of us than he's assuming. Either way, it's definitely not a good look for the rest of us.]
I wonder where all this is leading to. I can't imagine he'd go to all this trouble simply for his own entertainment.
I don't know what end he's after. I can't imagine it's really just to see us all dead at the end. This setup's a bit too complex for something like that.
[There are plenty of ways to kill a group of people that don't involve murdergames, so.]
But as for what his real aim is... I haven't the faintest idea.
[Which is agitating enough to get him to take another sip.]
All of this as a setup to achieve something specific, hmm... You might be onto something there.
[But what could it be that Hamelin's after - or whoever's actually in charge here? This seems like a lot of work so the payoff must be worth it, but...]
Well, I suppose speculating won't really get us far without anything more sufficient. Perhaps we'll come across something interesting at some point.

[Seems like Raven had a similar idea.]

When the topic of the meeting comes up though, he sighs and lifts his glass up. A pretty good giveaway that he agrees.]
I take it things aren't sittin' right with you either.

...Yeah. I think if he's got a mole or a couple, he probably wants ta ensure this whole thing sees a proper conclusion.

That's true. Speculatin's just gonna bring the mood down even more, ain't it. We've already got plenty enough reason ta wanna drink.
no subject
[Letters from the dead are just the cherry on top here. He really could use a proper drink.]
Well, I do appreciate the discussion. It's good to know we're on the same page~
[For the Hamelin stuff sure, but mostly for how goddamn upsetting this whole "the dead aren't really dead" thing is.]
